St Martin’s organised another of it very popular vintage afternoon teas on Sunday 29th November 2015 and on a cold wet and very windy afternoon. However, around 70 people braved the conditions to make this event another resounding success for St Martin’s and £480-65 was raised.
There was a huge amount of food and everyone could eat as much or as little as they liked. There were delicate sandwiches with a huge variety of fillings and an absolutely enormous amount of cakes, even for a cake loving fiend such as yours truly. I am famous (or infamous) for the amount of cakes I can consume, but even I was ‘caked out’.
It was really pleasant to spend the afternoon in a warm comfortable environment, having a good chat to your friends and family, with plenty of good food whilst the storm raged outside.
There was also a Christmas gifts stall where you could buy small items.
We also raffled some really large stuffed animals and other items.
We wish to say a really big THANK YOU to the ladies in the kitchen and everyone else who helped make this event such a resounding success.
