After lots of uncertainty and confusion Padgate and Woolston Walking Day took place on Saturday 25th June. St Martins joined adults and children from 11 churches and 8 schools in this procession of faith. It is said that over 2,000 people would be walking this year.
The sun shone and everyone Padgate Lane with lots of spectators to encourage all who took part.
Unfortunately we were unable to walk back through Woolston owing to having no police escort, as it could have been dangerous walking in the road with traffic using the highway, we disbanded at the top of Green Lane and made our own way back to St Martins.
We welcomed all walkers from St Martins and The Church of the Ascension to a special Walking Day tea. We look forward to this tradition continuing for many years to come.
