Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 5th November 2017
Let your peace rule in our hearts, O Lord, that each day we may delight in your strength, rejoice in your grace and find joy in the doing of your will. Keep us free from sin and grant us your blessings that we may serve you faithfully all our days; through Christ our Lord. Amen
Matthew Henry (1662-1714)
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 29th October 2017
Thanks be that we are never fully grown.
Each day, each month, each year
Gives time to be regenerated.
God of creation and re-creation,
You planted in us the seeds of life and growth
And challenged us to effort and to energy
That they might grow in us.
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 22nd October 2017
I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One and One in Three, of whom all nature hath creation; eternal Father, Spirit, Word: praise to the Lord of my salvation, salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen
From St Patrick’s Breastplate (5th Century) translated by C.F. Alexander in1889
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 15th October 2017
We praise you, Lord, for the wonderful universe you have created.
How amazing it is! How full it is of colours and shapes, all kinds of sounds and scents and so much that we can touch, taste and experience!
We praise you for the amazing variety of plant life… to give delight, to provide us with food and to be the means of healing… varieties too numerous to count.
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 8th October 2017
Creator of all that is, we praise you.
Through the senses you have given,
we can appreciate this multi-perfumed world.
Now we praise you for our sense of smell
and for all the different aromas
which, when we perceive them,
tell us of their source and awaken our response.
Prayer of the Week for the Week 1st October 2017
Lord, we try to use words to tell of a generosity that is beyond words.
We try to use words to describe the depth and breadth and length and height of your abundant goodness.
Yet, however many words we use, speech becomes inadequate as we seek to express a love beyond expression.
Art, music, poetry, dance become the vehicles of our wondering praise, but in the end, we fall silent in adoration.
Accept, Lord, the praise of our hearts as we reach for you in prayer. Amen

Blessed be Christ for the means of grace and hope of glory. Blessed be Christ in triumphs of the gospel and in the lives of the saints. Blessed be Christ in joy and in sorrow, in life and in death; now and to the end of the ages. Amen.
A Litany of the Resurrection
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 10th Septrmber 2017
Be to us, O God, the goal of all our loving, the aim of all our hoping and the end of all our striving. Let our thinking and speaking flow from you. May our daily life be centred in you and every breath we take be at one with you; and all for Jesu’s sake. Amen
John Cassian (c. 360 – 435)
Prayer of the Week for the Week Beginning 3rd September 2017
Accept , O Father, the sacrifice of our thanksgiving: of praise, for your great mercies; of prayer, that we may grow in grace; of penitence, that our sins may be forgiven; and of love, that only gift which you seek in us or desire; and this we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
John Donne (1572 – 1631)
